In industrial applications, the coatings of materials are an important consideration, particularly fracture and elastic-plastic mechanics coating materials. This is area focus for researchers in Inoue Sakaguchi Laboratory, Tokyo Institute Technology, Japan, where Associate Professor Motoki team investigating stress strain evolution during solidification adhesion process They doing this by conducting model experiments using paraffin wax, which enabling them to investigate individual effects different experimental variables, including droplet materials, temperature, kinetic energy, substrate temperature roughness. a current project, exploring fundamental processes involved residual development thermal barrier spray procedures. For this, he have developed experiment that allows simplify wax with low melting point and, so, can monitor precisely record deposition each splat spray. hopes research will help improve technology ultimately, lead improved, longer-lasting components equipment products.
